 Obama's military-industrial complex: Has he, like Eisenhower, just tried to warn us? 

     We've been told by both Google and FaceBook that U.S president emeritus Barack Obama was heavily involved in the making of Leave the World Behind.  Have you watched it yet?  Spoiler alert.

     It is my personal opinion that this film is Obama's cinematic equivalent of Eisenhower's farewell speech, the one that warned America about the military-industrial complex, that speech that we all ignored to our peril.

      And America will probably ignore this "speech" too -- saying it is just a disaster movie or a movie warning us about China, world war, Russia, terrorists, whatever.  No it's not.  It appears to me to be a warning that our military-industrial complex is still trying to gobble up America from within.

     Sorry, guys.  Too late.  America has already been eaten, digested and pooped out by our very own military-industrial complex.

PS:  The one thing that the Russians have really done right in the past decade is to make Russia completely self-sufficient.  And we need to make America self-sufficient too!  Never gonna happen, however.  Most of our crucial industry has now been shipped off-shore by -- guess who?  The military-industrial complex.  Only the weapons industry remains intact here, and who the freak can depend on weapons to eat, drink or be merry. 

     As for manufacturing the rest of our stuff, we can barely even tie our own shoelaces by ourselves these days.
