     Sorry that I keep getting distracted but creating memes are just sooo much fun!  And, frankly, fun is a little scarce in America these days....

 

PS:  The Zionists are playing with fire these days -- which is exactly what they have in mind.  "Oh Boy!" sez Bibi.  "Let's start a huge regional war, murder everyone in West Asia and then build settler condos from Tehran to Yemen!"  Not gonna happen, Bibi.  Get a grip.  Brooklyn just doesn't have that many rabid zealots in search of free real estate.

 

PPS:  An Israeli friend of mine just carefully explained to me that there really are some moral and honorable Israelis who actually hate Netanyahu and everything he is doing.  Good to know -- that there really are good people left in Israel (even though over a million of the more decent ones have just voted with their feet and moved back to their original countries).

PPPS:  More Holocaust philosophy at 4:00 am:  On the one hand right now, we have all these "Good Israelis" and on the other hand we have all these "Good Americans," all of whom, like the 1940s "Good Germans" before them, are still allowing the most bloody Holocaust in history to continue to happen (Day 401).  Is that a run-on sentence or what!

     And is Gaza really the bloodiest Holocaust?  Or, in terms of ratios and percentages of people slaughtered, was the Nazi Holocaust worse?  Or perhaps the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Holocaust?  Or the million-plus people slaughtered in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, etc. in the name of 9-11?  And just how many modern Holocausts are gonna be allowed before the average person starts to ask questions.

     According to my Franklin Daily Planner, "Hating people is like burning down your own house to get rid of a rat."  Or to get rid of thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of helpless babies....

Incarcerated Japanese-American children & incarcerated Palestinian children: No difference

 

Incarcerated Japanese-American children & incarcerated Palestinian children: No difference

      I just toured the Berkeley Historical Society's new exhibit regarding the harsh incarceration of Japanese-American children during World War II -- and was immediately struck by the close similarity between Manzanar's children and the children of Gaza (except of course for the part where America is supplying the torches that burn thousands of Gaza children alive).  

     I saw a poster at the exhibit that read, "I dream of a world where children are not incarcerated."  Yeah, well.  We still have a long long long way to go before we can make that dream come true -- but if we ever really want this to happen, then we need to stop futzing around and make it happen.

     Most of us are now totally ashamed of what America did to Japanese-American children back then.  Will most Americans also be totally ashamed of what they are doing to the children of Gaza as well?   And will most of us Americans start working to stop this horror? 

     We can picket weapons manufacturers.  We can call our governmental representatives (the ones who are spozed to work for us).  And, if nothing else, we can wear our keffiyahs every day.

PS:  For the past 80 years, Palestinians have been invaded, occupied, lied to, demonized and called terrorists -- just for defending their homes and their land.

     Palestinians have been cut off from commerce, denied education, called Human Animals, imprisoned, tortured, raped and murdered in cold blood.

     Yet despite all the horrors that Zionists have thrown at them for the past 80 years, Palestinians still doggedly continue to resist -- much to the Zionists' surprise.  Palestinians are unique, however.  Even after 80 years of brutality, torture and enslavement at the hands of their occupiers, they still believe in "Liberty and Justice for all."

     I wish that I was that brave.
