Sadistic Nazis: Soooo glad I'm not in Israel any more!

       I took a wonderful trip to Israel recently.  Had a wonderful time touring Jerusalem, the Wailing Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Dead Sea, the beach in Tel Aviv and all that other historic stuff.  But am I glad that I'm not there now!  Instead of wondering at all the marvels of the Holy Land, I would be sorely tempted to start trying to scratch people's eyes out!

     You know me.  I'm (mostly) non-violent.  That I would have been that sorely provoked says a lot.  But, damn, Israelis have now crossed a line in my book that they can never un-cross.  In my eyes, Israelis have all become Nazis.  Nazis.  Just as bad or even worse than Hitler's SS storm troopers or the Good Germans who worked at Dachau or Auschwitz.

       What brought about this chilling change in my attitude?  The recent Gaza prisoner exchange.  The Israeli prisoners of war that had been held captive in Gaza by Hamas's Shadow Unit for over 747 days -- had all been returned skinny, sure, but alive and in good shape.  "They ate what we ate," said Hamas.  

      But when the Palestinian prisoners of war were exchanged, it was a whole different story.  Limbs had been amputated unnecessarily.  Prisoners had been raped with sticks, broom-handles and even specially-trained dogs.  Not even Hitler's Nazis had thought of that one.  Bones had been broken and not reset.  They'd been fed rotten food.  The Palestinian prisoners looked like emaciated starving ghosts when they were released, and the dead bodies of Palestinian captives had been returned with signs of having been tortured to death -- and some of the bodies were even missing kidneys and hearts (sold on some organ-vending black market perhaps?)

      Thank goodness that I'm not in Israel any more.  It will have been hard to contain my rage.  I would simply walk down the streets of Jerusalem, anger bubbling out of the depths of my very soul and thinking, "Have these Israelis no shame?  No guilt?  No humanity?  No morals?"  Apparently not.  Apparently being squatters on Palestinian land is all that matters to them.  

     And unlike Hitler's Good Germans, the Israelis can never be able to say, "I did not know."
