Trump's wish list: What will Santa bring him for Christmas?

 

     Can you believe it?  I actually walked the Camino de Santiago!  Maybe not all the way across Spain -- but at least the last five miles.

     Other than the Hajj in Arabia, Spain's Camino is the world's most famous pilgrimage route.  And I just accidentally happened to arrive in Santiago de Compostela, its end point, on the holy feast day of Saint James himself.  The whole town was rocking -- as thousands of pilgrims poured off the Camino and into the world's most amazing cathedral.

      Somehow I managed to squeeze past a couple thousand pilgrims and slip inside the cathedral just in time for the 6:00 pm mass.  Sooo powerful.  I was levitating and glowing by the time it was over -- but soon crashed back down to earth moments later when I met another pilgrim and we started talking about politics.  Politics?  Oh yeah.  That would bring even St. James himself down off a religious high.

      Gaza.  I prayed for Gaza.  Ukra$ne?  I prayed for it too.  "But you know who else you should pray for?" asked my new friend.  "You should pray for America."  Okay.  I can do that.  But why?

      "Because of Donald Trump."  Sure, he's making a big mess of things but then so did practically every other American president since "Remember the Maine" and "Bomb Bomb Bomb Hiroshima" and "Iraq has WMDs".  Far too many American presidents have been sell-outs.  

       "But there is one big difference between Trump and the rest of them."  Not that I can see.  "The difference is that all the others sold out their country because they either wanted to curry favor with the elite, the deep state, the big guys -- or they were being blackmailed."  And isn't this also true about Trump?

     "No.  He sold out America solely to benefit only himself.  Trump has a wish list of stuff he wants for his own personal Christmas."  He does?  "I'm telling you.  For instance, he gets all kinds of stuff from the oil sheiks in the Middle East if he does what they say."  They give him money?  But what does he do for them in return?"

     "Trump unblocks anything that stands in the way of the flow of oil from the Saudis, the UAE, Qatar and them."  Okay.  I'm listening.  "He also blocks anything that will cause the price of their oil to go down.  Like blocking Russian oil.  Blocking Nordstream 2.  Blocking anything Green -- windmills, solar and such.  Blocking solar panels from China.  Bombing the freak out of Iran.  Blocking Venezuelan oil."  

     "But what's in it for Trump," I asked naively.  "The presidential airplane that Schiff and Durbin are always going on about?  That doesn't seem like much."

 

     "It's way much more than that.  He's already been given a Trump Tower in Dubai, developed by Dar Global -- and if he checks off even more items on the oil sheiks' wish list, he's in line for a casino license, his own island and a parking place on The Palm.  We're talking 200-plus billion dollars here."

      So you are saying that Trump is only in this presidency job in order to feather his own nest?" I asked.  That makes sense.  It certainly does explain his erratic behavior, his inconsistencies and his talent for changing directions on a dime.  He's only going where he can get the best deal?  And the Art of the Deal is not to benefit America?  It's to benefit Trump....

     "The Gulf States had been pumping out 26 million barrels of oil a day but now, due to the war in Ukraine, they are now selling up to 30 million barrels per day -- although their ultimate goal is to sell 100 million barrels a day," said my new fellow-pilgrim friend.  "And they will pay big bucks to anyone who will ease the flow of all that oil by creating a bigger demand for it.  Trump has his wish list -- but the Gulf States have their wish list too." 

     Walking the Camino is hard work.  God.  Politics.  Sore feet.  Wait, what?  There's an ice cream store?
